Cyberbullying


Definition:

the term used to refer to bullying and harassment by use of electronic devices through means of e-mail, instant messaging, text messages, blogs, mobile phones, pagers, and websites. Other terms for cyberbullying are "electronic bullying," "electronic harassment," "e-bullying," "SMS bullying," "mobile bullying," "online bullying," "digital bullying," or "Internet bullying".

Take a Stand

  1. Take deep breathes and try to calm yourself- although difficult at times, don't allow your emotions to be controlled by a bully
  2. Tell the person doing the bullying what they are doing is wrong
  3. Walk away from your computer
  4. Tell an adult immediately
  5. Print out any information
  6. "Silence, when others are being hurt, is not acceptable"
